Budda Twinmaster

  • set drive and all EQ controls to noon. (presence at 5.0)
  • The EQ is very responsive and works pretty intuitively. Cranking the mids really opens this amp up. Bass and treble sound fine at noon but you can set them to taste. I find that if there is too much bass, it is better to take it out in the advanced parameters rather than use the EQ knob.
  • The master on this amp likes to be between 7 and 9 depending on how much poweramp saturation you want.
  • Drive control is pretty straight forward. Noon gets you into dirty territory. 2 or 3 o'clock gets you rockin hard.
  • I usually find the sag, depth, and damp are best left alone. But if you think the sound needs it, don't hesitate to use the knobs.
  • Set warmth to taste. This amp had a tendency to be slightly muddy so I like to lower the thump to around 1.5 but if you want more low end chunk then obviously leave it be. If the amp is still too muddy after lowering the thump, the low cut knob is another great solution. 188 hz cut usually does the trick
  • As with a lot of amps, raising the Xformer match can make it sound more organic
  • If you want a more vintage feel, change to tonestack position to pre. This gives the amp that vintage marshall growl. Inversely if you want a more modern sound, change it to end. (although this amp isn't really made for modern sounds in the first place)
