Forum member Yek (Alexander van Engelen) describes each Drive model in his Guide to the Fractal Audio Drive Models (PDF).

Current edition: 2019, March.

The guide was preceded by a series of threads on Fractal Audio's user forum. Forum member Simviz assisted with migrating the contents of the threads to a PDF guide. Yek updates the PDF guide periodically.

Brief information about the Drive models, derived from the forum threads and PDF guide, is also available on this wiki page.

Important: Fractal Audio's modeling of drives has been improved in firmware Ares 3.02 and later for the Axe-Fx III. Gain, output level, characteristics and tone may have changed. So, tips and information in the current guide may not apply to Drive types in earlier firmware, including the AX8, FX8 and Axe-Fx II. For those devices, please refer to the "old" edition of this guide: [http://www.dropbox.com/s/2l53afdsiigo3rb/Yeks_Old_Guide_to_the_Fractal_Audio_Drive_Models.pdf click here].

If you find the guide useful, consider donating to a good cause.

Simple "Drive + Amp + Cab" presets are available to demonstrate most Drive models. Use FracTool to convert them if necessary.
