The first generation of the Axe-Fx consists of two models released by Fractal Audio Systems.

The original Axe-Fx (now commonly known as 'Axe-Fx Standard') was released in 2006 to much acclaim.

In 2008, Fractal released the 'Axe-Fx Ultra', which doubled the processing power and added numerous additional amplifier and effect modules.
