  • Tutorial
  • Always disconnect the MFC-101 when updating the firmware on the Axe-Fx II.
  • If the Axe-Fx II sounds bad after an update, try reinstalling the firmware, or perform a system reset.

Firmware updates: Fractal-Bot and other software

  • Fractal provides a dedicated utility for transferring updates to the Axe-Fx II and MFC-101, which can be used instead of Axe-Edit or a MIDI utility. See Fractal-Bot.
  • When using MIDI-OX (Windows) to send firmware to the Axe-Fx II, be aware that its default settings may cause a buffer overrun error. Change Low Level I/O Buffers size to 256, and number to 16, and Milliseconds between buffers to 90.

Firmware updates: Axe-Fx II XL recovery

  • Built-in backup firmware in the Axe-Fx II XL allows recovery in the event of complications during update. Read the Firmware Update Guide for more information, or contact Support.
