Axe-Fx Standard and Ultra
The first generation of the Axe-Fx consists of two models.
The original Axe-Fx (now commonly known as Axe-Fx Standard) was released in 2006. In 2008, Fractal released the Axe-Fx Ultra, which doubled the processing power, added memory and Ultra-only effects.
With the release of the Axe-Fx II in May 2011, Fractal has discontinued production of these two models. It continues to provide technical support.
Compatibility of Axe-Fx Standard/Ultra presets with Axe-Fx II
Presets created on the Standard and Ultra are not compatible with the Axe-Fx II. At the time of writing those presets can't be imported into Axe-Edit (when running in Axe-Fx II Config mode). You can however run multiple instances of Axe-Edit with different configs and compare settings. See Axe-Edit, the software editor.
