Tips and tricks for the MFC-101
All the tips and tricks you need to know: How-Tos for the MFC-101.
Rj45 port and CAT5 cable
- To connect the Axe-Fx II and the MFC-101 floor controller a CAT5 cable can be used, instead of a MIDI cable. The CAT5 cable connects to the Rj45 port on the Axe-Fx II. Use Edit > MIDI to configure the MFC-101 for use with either a MIDI or Rj45 cable connection.
- A CAT5 connection:
- provides power to the MFC-101 without the need to connect an adapter to the Axe-Fx II
- transmits MIDI messages between the Axe-Fx II and MFC-101
- carries tuner and tempo information to the MFC-101
- switches off the MFC-101 when the Axe-Fx II is switched off
- A propietary communication protocol is used for bidirectional communication and phantom power. The internal PSU for the MFC-101 will also support an expansion module for the MFC-101. Source1 Source2 Source3
