Standard and Ultra
The first generation of the Axe-Fx consists of two models:
- The original Axe-Fx (now commonly known as Axe-Fx Standard) was released in 2006.
- In 2008, Fractal released the Axe-Fx Ultra, which doubled the processing power, added memory and Ultra-only effects.
With the release of the Axe-Fx II in May 2011, Fractal has discontinued production of these two models (End Of Life).
Preset compatibility
Presets created on the Standard and Ultra are not compatible with the Axe-Fx II. At the time of writing those presets can't be imported into Axe-Edit (when running in Axe-Fx II Config mode). See Axe-Edit,_the_software_editor for information about running Axe-Edit with different configs to compare settings.
