The first generation of the Axe-Fx consists of two models released by Fractal Audio Systems.
The original Axe-Fx (now commonly known as 'Axe-Fx Standard') was released in 2006 to much acclaim.
In 2008, Fractal released the 'Axe-Fx Ultra', which doubled the processing power and added numerous additional amplifier and effect modules.
With the release of the Axe-Fx II in May 2011, Fractal has discontinued production of these two models, although it continues to provide full technical support.
