Welcome to the Axe-Fx Wiki! This is a site created by users of the Axe-Fx to collect information, tips, techniques, tutorials and more to help teach each other what the Axe-Fx can do. As you are reading this page now, you probably want to contribute something.

Guidelines for content

These are some basic ways to work the text of your articles:

  • Name/title articles with only the first letter capitalized, unless it's a proper noun and use underscores "_" instead of spaces. For example, use "Ring_modulator" instead of "Ring_Modulator" or "Ring Modulator". "Axe-Fx_Ultra" is fine. This allows linking text to work properly.
  • Create links by surrounding the text of the article name with square brackets: [ ] You don't have to capitalize the first letter or use an underscore. For more advanced link formatting, see the WikiMedis hyperlink below.
  • Mark sections specific to the Axe-Fx Ultra at the beginning with {{Ultra}}
  • Include another article's content in the currect article (called "transcluding") by typing {{:Article_name}}
  • To make sure a section of an article won't show up in other pages that transclude it, type <noinclude> </noinclude> around that section of the text.
  • Add a category to the end of an article using [[Category:NameofCategory]]
  • Embed a YouTube video with the <videoflash> </videoflash> tags around the YouTube video number.
  • WikiMedia has great information on how to format information in wiki, namely:
  • When in doubt, follow Wikipedia's guidelines [6]. They've been doing this a while, and have figured out how to make things look good.
  • If you accidentally mess something up and you don't know what to do, let someone on the Axe-Fx forum know. Someone there will know probably know how to fix it.

Editing a page

To add information to a page or correct an error, follow these steps:

  • Click the "edit" tab at the top of any page.
  • Edit the incorrect text or add new content
  • Click the "Show preview" button on the bottom of the page
  • If everything looks good, type a short summary of what you edited
  • Click the "Save page" button to save your changes.

Congratulations! You've now edited a wiki page!

If the edits to an existing page have messed something up when you attempt a preview, it's probably better to ask for some help before saving the changes. If something is saved and you find something suddenly disappeared, let someone on the Axe-Fx forum know and the changes can be rolled back or the missing text can be reinserted. Ultimately we'd like to keep everything as clean as possible.
