** Low Cut and High Cut have been extended to the Quad-Tap and Quad Tape types in the Multidelay block. These parameters control highpass and lowpass filters which filter the feedback from all the delay lines in contrast to the individual bandpass filters on each delay line. This allows quick and easy creation of bandlimited delays.

** Added Drive parameter to Quad-Tap and Quad Tape types in Multidelay block.

** The behavior of the Feedback parameters in the Quad-Tap and Quad Tape types in the Multidelay block has been improved. The feedback is no longer constrained to sum to 100%. Instead the total feedback is calculated and then normalized to 100% if the total exceeds 100%. This allows easier control of the feedback values.

About the Multi Delay block

The Multi-Delay is a rhythmic multi-tap delay block, available on the Axe-Fx II, AX8 and FX8.

It has 10 types:

  • Quad Tap
  • Plex Delay
  • Plex Detune
  • Plex Shift
  • Band Delay
  • Quad Series
  • Ten-Tap
  • Rhythm Tap
  • Diffusor
  • Multi Tape Delay

More information in the Owner's Manuals.

On the Axe-Fx III, FM9 and FM3, the Multitap Delay block, Plex Delay block and Ten-Tap Delay block provide the (enhanced and expanded) functionality of the Multi Delay block. Confusingly, the Multitap Delay block is often referred to as: Multi Delay.

Tips, tricks and troubleshooting

  • Apply High Cut if you want the Multi Delay to not interfere with the dry signal.
  • If you need a specific number of repeats, use Band Delay or Tap Ten Delay.
  • In Plex Shift Mode, adjusting Shift will affect pitch, tempo and the number of repeats. This is not a bug.
  • Multi Delay doesn't support spillover between presets.
  • Multi Delay features a "true" Mono Tape Echo mode.
  • Effects wizard Simeon provides a load of magnificent delay effects
