Exporting or backing up presets with Global Blocks

  • When backing up a preset with global blocks, you also always need to backup the System too, to get access to the global data.

Modifier parameters and controller settings not stored in Global Blocks

  • Modifier settings are not saved within Global Blocks. The same goes for controllers settings. You can use Effect Recall to copy controller settings from one preset to another.

Global control of an effect block's Bypass state

  • As of firmware 6.00 the state (On/Off) of a Global block is saved per preset. This means you can set Global Block #1 Off in one preset, and On in another. Before 6.x the On/Off state was shared by all presets.
  • If you want global control of the bypass state of an effect block (pre 6.0-behavior), here's a solution:
    1. Attach the Bypass parameter of the effect block to an External controller.
    2. In the I/O menu, switch the External controller between 0% or 100% to change the effect's Bypass state. Or assign a switch on your foot controller to the MIDI CC of the External Controller to switch the block.
    3. This works with global and non-global blocks, and across all presets with the same effect block.

New functionality in firmware 7.00

  • Firmware 7.00 release notes:
    • Added STRIP ALL GLOBAL DATA function to Utility-Preset menu. This function removes all Global Block associations from a preset. This is useful when downloading presets created by others that use Global Blocks. Running the function will strip the Global Block links but retain the sound of the preset as the author intended as that data is embedded in the preset
    • Added Global Block message to Recall menu. When a preset is loaded that contains Global Blocks, a message will appear indicating so. You can remove all links to Global Blocks by pressing Enter
